Located 42 miles south of Marathon, Big Bend National Park is a must-see. Fort Davis, the highest town in Texas, is a charming, historic town with one of the best persevered frontier military posts in the nation. A little further up the road is the McDonald Observatory, home to two 20-foot Ash domes that currently houses a RCOS 16″ Ritchey-Chrétien telescope. Guests to the observatory’s Evening Sky Viewing parties enjoy a front row seat to the Milky Way.
