For the past three years — in between juggling playing sax in the Norteno Band, “Herencia Del Bravo”, and a Jazz/rock/country duet with guitarist Ricky De La O — Al has done solo work as Al’s Woodwinds for weddings, memorial services, Christmas shows, banquets and other special events such as silky smooth Valentine’s Day love ballads and Mother’s Day serenades.

The annual Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering is preserving the traditions of the American west through words and music. Performances Friday and Saturday will be held on the campus of Sul Ross University in Alpine, approximately 30 minutes from Marathon on the east side of town. Trappings of Texas | Museum of the Big Bend
For the past 31 years, the Museum of the Big Bend in Marathon has exhibited some of the very best cowboy gear and fine western art in the longest running event of its kind in the country. There will be a Preview Party on Thursday evening, Grand Opening Exhibit and Sale on Friday and more events on Saturday. The exhibit will continue through May 2017.
